Can a state make its own firms leave China?
My current project asks when a home state can compel its own firms to reduce their stake in China, and what follows at home when it cannot. It compares German and American firms in automotive, chemicals, software and semiconductors, and asks why the state won in some of these encounters and the firm in others.

Inside the Geoeconomic Turn: Advanced Capitalism's Response to China
A book based on my dissertation. It explains why the United States, Germany and other advanced economies tightened their geoeconomic toolkits against China at different speeds and to different degrees, tracing the answer to the domestic coalitions behind each country's growth model.
